I’m triggered by those people that start decorating for Christmas in September, but when it comes to retail and e-tail, your tail should start planning for the holiday season in July/August. 🙏🏼(But if you’re not selling to consumers, summer doesn’t end until Sept 22nd so sit your pumpkin-spiced latte, sugar cookie loving butt down and let us sun worshipers have me have another margarita. )

Did you know? 🤔 Even B2B companies can get creative with some holiday deals to boost sales during an otherwise slow December.

The holiday season is when folks are mixing things up and spicing their shopping lists. A whopping one-third are open to shimmying down the shopping lane and grabbing brands they’ve never tried before.💃 And hold on! Even if they’re just window shopping, almost half are playing peek-a-boo with new brands. So hey brands, strut your stuff and show them what you’ve got!

Deal or No Deal?

Everyone loves a good bargain, right? It’s the holiday season, and while many are hunting for discounts like it’s a game of hide and seek, that’s not the whole story. Sure, 50% are after the best deals and steals. But here’s the twist: good ol’ behavioral science showed us that a shiny 5-star rating or that promise of “FREE delivery” might just win hearts faster than a 10% discount. And guess what? 81% of our tech-savvy shoppers are all about grabbing the best value, but 80% are also ensuring their cart is filled with quality. So, brands, while the price tag matters, the quality tag does too!

Google-ify Your Shopping!

When in doubt, just Google it! 86% of smart consumers believe that online wisdom helps them decide better. And hey, no surprises, Google’s been the holiday helper for nearly 9 out of 10 shoppers. 🎅🎄WOW!!!!

A little but important fact to wrap it all up: a huge 80% of holiday heroes did their homework before splurging, while 20% were all about that spontaneous “Add to Cart” magic. So when they are looking for information in early fall, I hope you’re showing up!

Guess what?

The digital realm isn’t just for binge-watching or mindless scrolling anymore. It’s the secret map guiding folks to their favorite store corners. In 2021, while many went back to the good ol’ store browsing (almost like the pre-mask era), a whopping 72% still had their phones handy for some quick look-ups, 51% got insights from online videos, and 32% were playing treasure hunt with online maps. And oh boy, the world’s been buzzing! Searches for “in-store” zoomed almost 3x since the year’s start. 🌍🔍

Wanna be the talk of the town? Dive into those Performance Max campaigns. Show off your store locations, those jazzy seasonal deals, and handy-dandy services like ‘Grab n Go’ curbside pickups. Because hey, there’s a whole bunch of eager shoppers out there, and they’re looking for stores just like yours. 🎉🛒🎁

More evidence, more confirmation that you will have to invest into some type of SEO strategy. If you’re not showing up, you don’t exist. You don’t have a seat at the table, you’re not invited to the party.
